PLAN
Once you feel confident in your keto knowledge, try planning out a few keto meals and snacks that are quick and include foods you like. These are convenient go-to- options when you don’t have as much time to plan or you’re limited on time to prep.
CLEAN OUT
Toss (or donate or give to a friend) processed snack foods, candies, desserts, cereals, sodas – anything with added sugars, as well as any higher-carb goods, that you know may tempt you. Temptations are easier to manage if they aren’t readily available in the kitchen. While doing this, also make a list of any pantry essentials that you need or are running low on.
SHOP & RESTOCK
Make a shopping list that includes ingredients for a few keto-friendly recipes, as well as those keto go to meals and snacks that you identified during planning. Then, add on those key essentials needed for the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. Think about products tat might simplify or make meal prep easy these few weeks of keto, such as bottled salad dressings, individually portioned guacamole or dressings, pre-washed salad greens, rotisserie chicken, and steam-in-the-bag vegetables.
PREP
Many keto-friendly foods are minimally processed, making them healthier and more nutrient dense, so they require little prep work. Think through your menu for the next few days and then take 30 minutes to 1 hour to trim, chop, pre-cook, marinate, proportion – anything that will make meals easy to throw together and snacks convenient to grab.
BE PREPARED
A game plan helps you prepare mentally and allows you to be more successful. Think through different food situations and scenarios and what you could choose or bring that’s keto friendly. Download & familiarize yourself with an app to track food intake and macronutrients. Consider keeping a small keto snack on hand in your purse or car to hold you over if you’re stuck with limited options while at the office or out.
