Love Thyself - A Keto Approach

Recently I put a post-up about loving your body and loving yourself. As most women do, I went through a state of Post-Partum Depression. I’ve been very hard on my myself about what my body “should” look like. It’s natural for me to fall into the trap of social media society. My thoughts go to, “this girl looks amazing, her stomach is so flat, hips are so perfect…why can’t I be her?”

Truth is, do I really want to be her? What is really going on with her inside? What is she feeling, physically, mentally, and emotionally? As a woman, I know how important it is to feel wanted, to feel loved, to want attention (even if it isn’t for the most positive reasons). BUT do you want the stress behind maintaining it?

As I’ve been reflecting lately, I’ve realized a few things:

  1. I am a mother! My body carried a baby for 9-10 months (she was happily comfortable). My body made food to support my child. My body kept me going, even when I didn’t feel like it was possible.

  2. My husband loves all of me! My little squishy stomach, my turkey legs, and my bubble but! No matter how small or large I get, he is in love with me, and that is HEAVY.

  3. I love myself and I love my body! What I would like to do for it is make it healthier; feed it the nutrition that it needs to stay strong. I’m doing this so that I am around much longer to support my little one.

Did you see what I did there? Change your MINDSET, change your OUTCOME! This is your life, and you have the ability to take control of it. I talk about this a LOT, but I am such a KETO advocate. This lifestyle provides me all the discipline that I need in order to make myself a better me. It has allowed me to take control of my health and reach my fitness and nutrition goals. Even if you aren’t on Keto, changing small things about the way you THINK, SPEAK, LIVE can make you the person you’ve always wanted to be.

Today could be the day that you are ready to change your mindset. What is it that you have to lose? Weight 😊. Do you want to eat better for your health? Do you want to be around a lot longer for your loved ones? Let’s chat today about how you can start making small changes in your life that will have a longer lasting impact on your everyday lifestyle! Self-love is the best love.

In the meantime, what you can do is:

  • Write down your goals, make them realistic (no, I want to lose 20lbs in 2 weeks).

  • Write down positive things about YOU and your BODY.

  • Go on a fast. This could be something that is toxic, such as social media, sodas, bad foods, anything that makes you think negative about you.
